Data collection in Y4
In computing this week we built on the idea of collecting data over time, and were introduced to the idea of collecting data automatically using computers such as data loggers.
We were also be introduced to the concept that computers can capture data from the physical world using input devices called ‘sensors’. We established that sensors can be connected to data loggers, which can automatically collect data while not attached to a computer.
We had a great time collecting light levels and sound levels in various areas of the school, using the data to answer questions such as where is the brightest/ dullest, loudest/ quietest areas of the school.
