Year 6 Morning Writing
A group of Year 6 students have been attending challenge writing lessons on a Tuesday morning. Recently, they have been working on a piece titled 'Out in the Cold' where they are using their Geography studies of the polar regions to inspire their creative writing.
Here are some snippets from their writing:
"Antarctica is a cold, hostile environment. Did you know that it is highly recommended that you never travel alone - a famous saying in the North? With my blood pounding and heart racing, my fingers and nose made miniature icicles, which clung on for dear life. Nipping at my toes, was the paralysing frost, hungry for warmth. It was an inhospitable January when I learned of winter's natural beauty, although my toes did not agree. In the land of emptiness, there lay an icy forest towering over the immense ebony ocean."
"It was the most forbidding winter’s day, the crystallized leaves fluttered down like never before, as they danced in the wind with the tiny snowflakes. Up in the trees, a synchronized harmony echoed from the cascading branches. When the shining sky slowly faded, gorgeous ripples formed in the Ocean while the moon glistened in the midnight heavens. "
Well done Year 6 - Keep up the brilliant work!
