Frosty Clove Hitching
A new year is here! I welcomed our year 2 class to the first Forest School session of 2025! It was a super chilly start with -2 degrees!
Clove Hitch
I'm pleased to say that everyone was wrapped up warm, and managed to stay as snug as can be.
Today we looked at a clove hitch knot. This is a basic knot that helps us start off different things. We used it to make some frames. It was quite an ambitious task, as when you're only 6, making a knot can be quite a challenge. Year 2 however did super well, they had a lot of patience and I was very impressed by this.
Some of the children said they would like to practice so please see a great website link to help
After our frames were made we collected some natural materials to weave through.
As it was cold, we got the fire on a bit earlier than usual to help warm up those chilly hands.
A smore was enjoyed by all!
Have a fabulous weekend and see you next week for another forest school Friday
