Hedgehog Houses
It was a blustery day in Forest school today and the rain stayed away. Year R had a fun time exploring all things bugs. We read a brilliant little story to remind us that we are never alone when we are in the garden. There are little creatures and mini beasts everywhere - even if we don't see them.
We explored the bug hotel in the school garden. I showed the children our hedgehog house- it's so camouflaged you wouldn't even know it was there.
The children amazed me with their knowledge of what nocturnal meant. They were able to correctly tell me of the many animals that are nocturnal.
The children enjoyed a fire for the first time in Forest school. They were fantastic at listening to the fire safety rules and making sure they followed them.
It was a very enjoyable day and it was so great to see the children enjoying the outdoors.
